Colorado and more 1980 - 1983

The weather, the people, the culture - everything was slightly different from the midwest. We moved to Colorado in April 1980. I had to quit my wonderful job with Polytech Inc. (Consulting Engineers). Our parent company at that time was CH2M Hill and they offered a job in Aurora, CO in their program management office (PMO). But due to family reasons, I could not take up that job. That was the end of my career.

Well, this is where and when we travelled a lot. Main places were in Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, California, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah. Places like Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National park, Disney Land, Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Pikes and other snow peaks of Colorado, Dallas and Austin and more. The children thoroughly enjoyed these trips. Rao was the main driver in all these trips - rain or shine, snow storm or icy roads. We even went through a lightning storm once near Colorado Springs. It was so scary, but Rao had the courage and persistence to make it possible. I am sure the children remember where all he had taken them.

I can't believe that we travelled very little in those 13 years. I have to subtract almost 4 years from that figure since I stayed in India during that time. I spent time in India with both sides of the family for 10 months till June 1971 and again from January 1973 to September 1975, for almost 3 years. But the other 9 years, the most we visited was New York, Philadelphia, Washington (D. C.), Ann Arbor (MI), Chicago.

Then we really started going to places. Will cover them in the next post. I just wanted to revive this blog of mine.
